1. The evaluation of the "type" of jade occupies an important position in its quality. There is a saying that "experts look at the type, while laymen look at the color". "Type" refers to the characteristics of structure and transparency, that is, the comprehensive properties of jade itself reflected by its structure and construction. Jadeite with these four qualities is of high quality. According to the brightness and depth of green tones, it can also be divided according to its value: bright green, emerald green, sunny green, blue-green, bean green, melon green, spinach green, gray-green, etc. Avoid adding cyan, blue, gray, black and other tones to green, as these are called evil colors and will lower the price. Other colors of jade include white, yellow, blue, black, brown and gray. White is the most common and cheapest. The black color is called jadeite, which is often carved into pendants and sold at a high price. Brown and gray are the worst colors and are basically not processed into jewelry.

4. The clarity of jade, its cracks and flaws affect its value. Cracks are also called fissures and cotton willows. The location, size, number and nature of cracks greatly affect the value of jadeite. Defects are divided into white defects and black defects. White defects appear as white flocs, lumps, clouds and other impurities, also called "stone flowers" and "stone brains"; black defects appear as black or brown dots, spots, ribbons and other impurities, which have a greater impact on clarity. The location, size, and number of defects have a great impact on the value of jadeite.

5. Jade craftsmanship: As the saying goes, jade cannot be made into a useful object without being carved.
