The characteristics of jadeite from various areas in Myanmar. Once you learn them, you can also quickly identify the production areas of jadeite!

I believe that many consumers who like jade usually watch some videos about jade. On large short video platforms, we can see that the anchors can tell which mine the jade comes from just by looking at the appearance of the jade in the jade raw stone market. So why can they distinguish the mines of jade so quickly?

The answer is actually because the jade produced in each mine has its own special characteristics, which is why they can quickly distinguish the jade mines. Generally speaking, the field is the origin of jadeite, which is also called mining area or field area. The eight major field areas are divided into many field mouths. Even in the same field area, the jadeite produced in the subdivided field mouths has different characteristics. Therefore, there is a saying in the gambling stone industry: "If you don't know the field mouth, you can't play gambling stone." So? What are the different characteristics of jadeite from different mining areas? Let’s take a look together!

Longken Field

The Longken field area is divided into Longtang, Mulangan, Tielongsheng, Damobian, Xiaomobian, Gedimo, Pozhigong, Moshisa, Bannong, Masa, Sankamo, Kalamo, Sanketang, and Mobanwa.

Tielongshengchangkou

The jade produced at the Tielongsheng mine is all green in color. Some of the jade is usable, some is of poor quality, the color is bright yellow-green, and some has black spots in it. Tielongsheng was sold at a good price when it was first produced, but later people discovered that there were black spots in the jade, and the price gradually dropped. Currently, not many people are mining it.

Yongquchangkou

The Yongqu mine is translated as Yongchu, and the material it produces is what is called Yongchu material on the market. Yongqu material is basically high green with black spots. To put it simply, the high green color of the parallel imports is black, and the black component in it is diopside. Because of its good water quality and beautiful uniform color, there are quite a few of them inlaid on the market now, but the material is relatively thin. After setting, an A-grade certificate can be issued, but the density item will say "not measured due to setting", thus avoiding the disadvantage of insufficient density of this type of material.

Moshisha

The jadeite from the Moshisha mine is actually famous for gambling on stones, because the jade pieces are generally small, around 4-6 kilograms, and there are no large pieces. The raw stones of Moshi Shaba Jade mainly have white sand skin and gray sand skin. The rarest ones are red sand leather. White sand skin is the most common, which is related to its low iron content, but even red sand skin, Mosisha jade has colors such as yellow, white, gray and black.

Longtangchangkou

The Longtangkou jade is produced dozens of meters underground. The jade is sandwiched between the bluestone layers, but they are all clear materials, and the water color of the materials is slightly tenderer than that of the old field jade. The secondary jadeite raw stones here are mainly yellow sand skin or grayish white fish skin. The skin is relatively rough, but most of them have good water and ground, the green color is very pure, and high-quality jadeite materials are often produced.

Masachangkou

Masa mine is an important mine in Longken, mainly producing raw stone ore, which belongs to Xinchang jade. The blocks are large with no skin or little skin. Because the jade from new factories has a lighter color and uneven water and ground quality, it is generally used to make low-end bracelets or large ornaments.

Phakant

The main venues are: Lao Phagan, Mowangji, Mowanggeli, Mamengwan, Mameng, Dagudi, Miaopie, Danxiu, Suluoka, Sitongka, Muna, Qiaoyinshu, Lieyinshu, Xiangzhu, etc. Among them, Lao Phakant and Muna are particularly famous.

Lao Pa Gan Mine

Lao Phagan is also called Phagan Base. This site has been dug to a depth of 60 meters and the stone foot has been dug to 9 layers, with various skins such as yellow and black, coffee red, and water-turned sand produced. The jade wax shell produced is thinner, easier to wash, and has better quality and quantity.

Munachangkou

The jade produced from the Mu Na mine is famous for its white ice-type and floating cotton. Although many jades from Mu Na material have cotton, they are often of excellent quality and water quality. People define the misty snowflake cotton as another beauty of jade. Therefore, Mu Na material has also become a popular jade mine. People describe Mu Na jade as "the sea and sky are one color, dotted with snowflakes, the beginning of chaos, Mu Na is supreme."

Xiangdong area

The Xiangdong field is located on the bank of the Wulu River between the Damukan field and the Phakant field. It is also the confluence of the Wuyu River and the Huika River. It is about 8 kilometers away from Phakant. There are many raw stones. The main field sites are: Xianggong, Deyougong, Baisanqiao, Sibo, Moxiang, Raojigong, etc. The jadeite from Xianggong mine mostly has a yellow skin, is mainly coarse sand, and often has rust spots. If the raw stone has a small amount of rust on its skin and it starts to fall off, it indicates that the raw stone has a very good base; if the raw stone has a large amount of rust on its skin and it is thick and does not fall off, it indicates that its base has a bluish tint and poor transparency.

Damukan Field

The famous venues include: Damazhuang, Huangba, Mogedie, Quebing, Jiaolong Base, Dasanka, Nansili, Nanseting, Xidabie, Yueyisun, Nayadong, Meilinqiang, Kuma, Danxiu, etc. Damukan source jade generally shows the characteristics of "nine out of ten fogs contain water". Whenever the skin is mixed with yellow, the jade color tends to be bluish, and often shows peaks and valleys. The colors include brown, reddish yellow, and gray. Rarely seen wax cakes. The damu-shaped raw stones are generally not large, usually weighing less than 3 kg. The raw stones from Damukan have mostly brown, gray, yellow and red skins, and they are all small in size at the bottom of the water. White fog and yellow fog are very common, and red jadeite is the most precious.

Card area

There are more than 10 famous mining sites including Zhanga, Modong, Shangxia Subajiong, Jialeyang, Magabing, Yushiwang, Gedongyue and Mopi. The Zhanga field mines jadeite in the highland gravel layer, which can be divided into three layers from top to bottom: the upper layer is a yellow gravel layer, which is mostly elephant skin, grayish white, turned sand, old type, and often produces high-color materials. The middle layer is a rust-colored layer, mostly red pepper oil shells, some are good and some are bad, some are high-colored and some have a dog shit bottom, and they are all uneven. The lower layer is a black-gray layer, mostly black wax shell black yarn. Beneath the dark grey layer is visible bedrock, which is a harder bluish green schist.

Houjiang Field

The main venues are: Moron, Bisidu, Gemulin, Paduoman, Hong Kong Mo, Modongguo, Modi, Jiaying, Bugedo, and Geqingmo. The Houjiang mining area has been mined since 1963, but most of the mines have basically no materials produced so far. Because the materials from Houjiang are mainly small pieces, but the color is good and the quality is old, they are usually processed into ring faces.

Thunder strike area

The Leida area is also known as the Namo area. Currently, the only representative areas are: Namo, Qinlanbang, Menglanbang, etc. There is a name for jade. Jade that is covered with cracks of varying sizes and criss-crossed with cracks is called thunder-struck jade. Locals believe that this is caused by lightning strikes and fire. This field is located in the upper reaches of Kangdi River. Most of the minerals are surface ores. The blocks are inferior, with many cracks, dry bottom water, poor hardness, loose texture, and difficulty in extracting materials. There are many low-grade goods.

Nanqi District

The Nanqi field is located south of the Wulu River and south of the Damukan field. The most famous fields are: Nanqi, Nanmo, Moliu, Nanxiong, Wuqigong, Nahei, Tongdong, Moliumo, Mogedi, etc. The blocks produced include yellow sand stone, half mountain and half water stone, and water-turned sand stone. They are not foggy green, but tend to be blue, gray, or even black.

There are three layers of ore in the Nanqi field. The first layer is yellow sand, the second layer is yellow-red sand, and the last layer is black sand. On the market, most high-quality skins are green or bluish in color. Yellow sand skin, yellow-red sand skin, and black sand skin are all rare. The most common ones are gray skin and greenish-blue skin. Ribbon Green is a very typical and high-value variety in this field. The green belt is mostly bluish green, and this kind of jadeite raw stone is generally older.
