A 100-kilogram piece of jadeite raw stone was carved into a hornet's nest. Don't be surprised, please read to the end!

Today I want to tell you about a giant piece of jadeite. This piece of black Wusha covered material weighs more than 100 kilograms. It not only has a fracture, but also has very ordinary water quality. However, this jade carver will change its fate.

After getting it, I rinsed it first, and then started to peel it. After peeling, there was actually a strip of color!

The designer suddenly had an inspiration and drew a design. We can see that it is a Buddha statue.

After the design drawing is completed, work begins on the material. First, an outline is drawn on the material and a rough shape is carved out.

After the rough outline is carved out, it is time to slowly start carving the details. This cannot be completed in a short time. Sometimes the sculptor will sit and look at the material for a whole day.

Slowly, the shape of the portrait has emerged, and you can see that the lines of the entire character are well handled.

Sculpture requires constant innovation in order to continuously produce works of art, rather than something that can be produced by any machine.

The next step is to start the meticulous carving, which cannot be done carelessly and can only be done bit by bit. If you are not careful in some places, the work will be ruined. Therefore, to be a jade carver, you need to be very patient.

Seeing this, many friends may feel a little uncomfortable, but don’t worry, the finished product will surprise you, and this kind of hollowing technique is very laborious.

Let’s take a look at the finished product. This work took three years and eleven months to complete and is named “Asking You”.

Zen practitioners break through appearances and observe their own nature, thus giving rise to an orchid heart, which is proud but not arrogant. Where were you yesterday? Tomorrow, you are still...

The creation of a work requires the sculptor to carve it thousands of times. Some friends may think that this work does not look like jade because the author used different texture processing techniques.

For example, the rhizome of an orchid appears white after being polished, and because the characters have been punched millions of times, the steel needle will slip when rubbing against the jade, leaving iron marks. Over time, the iron marks will rust and present a sense of vicissitudes and dilapidation, so the entire work presents a rich sense of layering.

When this work appeared at the exhibition, many people and even some judges did not believe that it was carved as a whole. This is enough to illustrate the importance of this work in the jade carving industry.

In the end, this work won the Gold Prize of the Shengong Award and was estimated to be worth tens of millions.

After playing with various kinds of jewelry for most of my life, my favorite is jadeite. It is because jadeite’s infinite variety of colors, water quality, and humanistic culture are so fascinating. Although the “knowledge” I have learned from jadeite is like “panacea”, which can bring “coolness” here and “itch relief” there, what I get from it is not just the concrete image of jadeite, but more importantly, many life inspirations.
