Do you really need to soak jade bracelets in water when you’re not wearing them?

However, this approach is unscientific.

If a jade bracelet lacks water, its appearance will indeed be damaged, but it does not need to be soaked in water for a long time. Nowadays, the water (tap water) used by urban residents has been disinfected by water plants and contains disinfectant elements such as chlorine. If soaked for a long time, the chlorine in the water will form a layer of substance on the surface of the bracelet, which will deteriorate the quality of the jade bracelet and change its color and transparency.

Soak the bracelet in pure water for one or two hours, take it out, wipe it clean with a dry soft cloth, and place it in a brocade box or some jewelry box. If you don't wear it for a long time (such as a whole year), you can take it out and soak it in water every 3 or 4 months. If placed in a separate cabinet, you can put two cups of water next to it. The water vapor naturally evaporated from the cups can effectively keep the bracelet moist.
