Bean-type jadeite is not all low-end products, here is the analysis!

Are bean-type jadeite all low-end products? Although there are many bean-type jadeites that cost tens or hundreds of yuan, not all bean-type jadeites are low-end products, because it also depends on the comprehensive evaluation of all aspects. For example, ice bean-type and bean green-type are all very expensive, so they cannot be generalized.

“Experts look at the quality, laymen look at the color.” In the eyes of most people, the first thing they look at when buying jade is its color. Therefore, no matter what kind of jade it is, if it has green and color, it will be very expensive. The market price of a full-color bean-type brand is in the five or six figures, while the price of a general full-color bean-type bracelet is in the six or seven figures.

If the crystals that make up jade are coarser, usually the crystal interface can be seen with the naked eye when the crystal grain size is above 1 mm. These slightly coarse jade crystals are mostly short columnar. The short columnar crystals look very similar to "beans", hence the name "bean species". In the jade industry, bean-type jade is generally considered to have poor water content (i.e. dry water) and coarse crystals, and is often used to make low-end accessories, ornaments, etc. Therefore, when people mention bean-type jadeite, the first impression that flashes through many people’s minds is that bean-type jadeite is a low-end product.

However, as a veteran jade player and jade raw stone merchant, I believe that not all bean-type jades are low-end products. There are also many good things among them. It is only because of their large quantity and generally low price that people mistakenly believe that all bean-type jades are synonymous with "low-end products". Simply share that you should know that bean-type jade is actually a huge jade family, which can be divided into the following types:

1. Bean green jade: refers to the bean type with typical mung bean color, which is light in color and yellowish, and has poor brightness. It has a rough structure and poor light transmittance. It is a lower-grade type of jade and is mostly used to make low-end bracelets.

2. Ice bean-type jadeite: Its transparency and crystal quality are better than other bean-type jadeite, and it has reached the ice type when it is old. It has the characteristics of both ice and bean types. After polishing, it is very moist, and some even have a fluorescent effect, giving it an ice type feeling and is very expensive.

3. Sweet bean-type jade: refers to the color that is relatively brighter than the ordinary bean-type jade. Although the color is not deep, it is brighter and more uniform, and is more popular.

4. Colored bean-type jade: refers to jade with relatively more colors, richer colors, and brighter colors. Its color is better than that of sweet bean-type jade. Some of them can even be made into mid- to high-end goods.

5. Oil bean-type jadeite: refers to the base color of the oil green type, which generally has a spotted structure, which is not as good as the best but better than the worst.

6. Cat bean jade: refers to a bean-type jade with a certain green color, but the base color has many black or brown dirty spots. If it is soaked in strong acid and the dirty spots are washed away, it can be used as the raw material for B-grade and B+C jade.

7. Fine bean-type jadeite: The crystals are the most delicate among all bean-type jadeite, and the jade flesh is more uniform. Therefore, fine bean-type jadeite can be considered excellent among the generally rough bean-type jadeite.

8. Coarse bean type: The grains of coarse bean type jade are relatively coarse, and there is no moisture, and the light transmittance is not good, so it is generally classified as a low grade.

9. Bean Green: Although the value of jade is evaluated comprehensively based on its type, water, color, streaks, cracks, cotton, workmanship, and shape, the value of jade will increase a lot as long as it is green. Although the base of bean green jade is not good, it is deeply loved by jade lovers due to its bright color, and the price is quite high (the green one is bean green, and the blue one is bean blue).
