You should know the two "big" characteristics of jade, but you rarely pay attention to them

First: High pressure resistance

Jade is a type of jadeite and has a relatively high hardness. Therefore, from a physical property perspective, jade can withstand extremely high static pressure (except impact force), which is called toughness. The so-called toughness of jade refers to its ability to resist hammering, stamping, cutting and tearing. In contrast to toughness, brittleness means that a material is easily broken by external forces. An example can be used to vividly illustrate the toughness and brittleness of jade: when you tear jade hard, it is difficult to break, which is the role of toughness; when jade falls from a high altitude, it immediately breaks into several pieces, which is the role of jade's brittleness.

It can be seen that jade has great toughness and brittleness, so jade has great bearing capacity, but its anti-aging ability is relatively weak. Of course, the toughness of jade is also related to its thickness. Jade that is too thin is more likely to break.

Second: Big price difference

I believe that it is not difficult for jade lovers who often play with jade to understand this point. Such a big gap occurs because the quality of jade varies, and therefore the value of jade of different qualities is not the same. High-quality jade has high value, and low-quality jade has low value. Therefore, value determines price, and the price difference of jade is naturally large.
