If these 3 phenomena appear on jade, 90% of them are likely to be natural jade.

Many friends have asked me that they were very careful when wearing the bracelets and pendants they just bought, and they did not touch or bump them. But when they looked at them under the light, they found something like cracks inside. So were they cheated? I can tell you very accurately that it is not!

Jadeite will have cotton, tendons, lines, ice lines, jadeite properties and other characteristics inside, which are very important evidence for identifying whether the jadeite is natural jadeite. During processing, polishing and grinding may cause some roughness and unevenness. These are all characteristics of hand carving and are not defects. These steps can also be simply used as some characteristics to identify natural A-grade jadeite. So today I will show you 3 common defects and what impact they will have on jadeite.

1. Cracks in Jadeite

Simply put, the cracks in jade are caused by the movement of geological rock strata, or by people bumping or hitting jade during the mining process, causing some damage, thus forming cracks. Of course, cracks can be divided into primary and secondary. Primary cracks are simply naturally formed, because they are cracks formed by geological movements, and secondary cracks are caused by artificial processing or transportation. How to identify them specifically? You can scratch the crack with your fingernail. If it feels uncomfortable, it has a concave feel.

2. Jadeite Cotton

The cotton in jade usually appears in jade with better water head. There will be lumpy or filamentous white substances inside, which look like cotton from the outside. We usually call these lumps "cotton" in a very vivid way. Most jade will have cotton, which is also a substance that only appears in natural A-grade jade.

3. Jadeite color roots

The color roots of jadeite refer to the relatively lighter range of linear and flake-like green that appear on the jewelry and gradually diffuse to the surrounding areas. The color roots have a certain influence, making the surrounding areas turn green. The color distribution is not particularly uniform, but a spider web-like distribution, which makes it look more floating and some colors are brighter.

The above three phenomena are the more common characteristics of jadeite. If you see these three phenomena, please act quickly to identify the quality of jadeite, don’t hesitate.
