The grade classification of jade is something that many people are concerned about. After all, the same A-grade jade can be worth anywhere from a few hundred yuan to millions of yuan. The range is so wide that we need some standards to judge the quality of jade. What are the standards for grading jadeite? Let’s take a look together! In the commercial grade evaluation of finished jade products, factors such as jade's color, transparency, purity, structure, and shape are evaluated. Based on the performance and ratings of these indicators, we can derive the grade classification of jade, and have a clear understanding of the quality of jade. 1. Color level classification. The color level classification mainly depends on whether the color is pure and without impurities and whether the distribution is uniform. According to this standard, jade is divided into six grades from high to low. They are: Level 1: pure green; Level 2: green with a slight yellow tint; Level 3: green with a slight yellow tint; Level 4: green with a yellow tint; Level 5: blue-green, yellow-green; Level 6: blue-green, yellow-green with a gray tint. 2. Classification of levels of structure and transparency. The structure and transparency are what we often call the quality of jade. The transparency of jade is the "water" of jade, and its levels are divided into five levels from high to low, namely: level one (fully transparent), level two (transparent), level three (semi-transparent), level four (slightly transparent), level five (opaque); and the structure of jade is the "type" of jade, and its levels are divided from high to low as follows: level one (very fine structure, small and uniform particles); level two (dense structure, uniform particles); level three (not dense enough, uniform particle size); level four (loose structure, large differences in particle size). 3. Classification of purity levels. Purity is determined by whether the jade has cracks, white cotton, black spots, gray threads, etc. The purity level of jade is divided into four grades, namely: level one (very pure, no flaws can be seen under a ten-fold magnifying glass); level two (pure, with a small amount of tiny black spots, white cotton, etc. under a ten-fold magnifying glass, and no cracks); level three (semi-pure, cracks are not visible to the naked eye but a small amount of white cotton can be seen, and a small amount of cracks can be seen under a ten-fold magnifying glass); level four (impure, with cracks visible to the naked eye and the presence of white cotton, gray-black silk and other substances). The above four aspects are the standards and contents for the commercial grade classification of finished jadeite in the market. When we ordinary consumers buy jadeite jewelry in daily life, we can also select and buy our favorite jadeite based on the above four indicators. Although accurate rating is not possible, it can also provide some reference.
