The correct process for appreciating jadeite is like this. Did you get it wrong?

I believe that many people know that jade is most valuable when it is green, and this saying has been deeply rooted in everyone who likes jade. Therefore, when many people choose this kind of jade, they will put the green material first. This is understandable in itself, but in this market, is the green material really valuable?

If you put a green glass bottle on the market, it will definitely not sell for a high price. Therefore, everyone should not pay too much attention to this topic. You must analyze their internal quality. Only the real natural A-grade jades have a relatively delicate germplasm structure and a high concentration of color, which can be called truly flawless jade. In fact, there are many ways to distinguish jade in this industry. It does not mean that the quality of a piece of material can only be judged by whether it is green.

There are many different types of jade, such as water quality and color variations, and even the slightest difference will directly affect its value. It is possible that two pieces of material look similar, but their qualities are different and their prices will differ greatly. To take the simplest example, if one piece is an imperial green jade of the glutinous ice type and the other is an ordinary glass bottle, then their prices will differ by thousands or even tens of thousands of times.

So when choosing jewelry, don’t use habitual thinking that the greener the jade is, the more expensive it is. In that case, you might as well just buy a glass bottle. It is not the case that the darker the better. If the jade is too green, it will lose its transparency and the material will have no value. We must make judgments based on actual conditions. In fact, the green we see is not entirely the color of the jade itself, but a mixture of multiple colors inside.

If the green wavelength of the jade is 530~510 mm, it will appear a pure green. Material with a wavelength within this range indicates that it is a flawless and high-quality material. If it is smaller than this range, the color will be bluish. If the color is larger than this range, it will be yellowish. Write this feature down so that when you screen in the market, you can avoid the traps set by merchants and not fall for it.

When buying this kind of jade product, the most taboo thing is to invest too much fantasy in it. In fact, the most fundamental value of this jade lies in its own quality, not its own value-preserving effect. We must learn to appreciate their internal qualities, then accept their culture, and finally see whether they have a value-preserving effect. This is the correct process, and you must not reverse the order.
