Jadeite is also known as jadeite. The main color is green, with other colors including red, yellow, and white. The red one is called jadeite and the green one is called emerald. The criterion for its quality lies in color and ground. In terms of color, green is the most valuable, the darker and brighter the better; the ground should be transparent and clean, with a moisture feel, commonly known as "glass ground". Jadeite seals with excellent color and quality are hard to find. They are the king of jade and are extremely expensive.

How to distinguish between ABC jadeite?

1. Grade A: All raw materials and finished products of jade are genuine, without any artificial counterfeiting, and the goods are genuine and the price is reasonable. High-grade jadeite has properties of property, value preservation and investment. It is not only material wealth, but also spiritual wealth. Because this kind of high-end jade products are very rare and becoming less and less. As a result, many people engaged in the jade trade have rarely encountered this type of product. Its price keeps rising. Some of the highest-grade jade products, such as bracelets, saddle ring faces, necklaces and some jade artworks, can cost hundreds of thousands to millions, or even tens of millions. Some wealthy people pursue this kind of finished product to a crazy degree.

2. B-grade jadeite: This is a medium- and low-grade jadeite raw material or finished product with a dirty gray and black base and poor water (transparency) but good and genuine green color. This is done by physical and chemical treatment to remove the dirt and increase the water content, thus changing the base and water content and better bringing out the original green. This kind of jade that has been processed but not artificially colored is called B-grade jade. The physical and chemical treatment of B-grade jade is to improve the grade of jade, but the treatment has destroyed the structure of jade, making it loose, reducing its quality, and changing some of its optical and physical properties. As a result, it cannot be compared with untreated jade, and the price is much lower.

3. C-grade jade: The processing method is the same as B-grade jade, the difference is that it is colorless, has a lighter green or a more scattered green. The finished product that is artificially colored is called C-grade jade. The difference between B-goods and C-goods is that B-goods only require cleaning of dirt and water but are not artificially colored, while C-goods sometimes require artificial coloring in addition to cleaning of dirt and water. Jadeite with good bottom water quality can be colored directly. (Note: Jade merchants are accustomed to calling transparency "water head". "Bottom" refers to the cleanliness and transparency of the green part and other parts of the jadeite.)

The color of jade: Green is the best color of jade, followed by purple, then cyan and red, and the worst are black and "cat poop color". There are also differences in quality of green. Young leaf green is better, dark green is better than light green, and all-over green is better than a little green, a patch, or a line of green.

Jade pit mouth: refers to the texture of jade ornaments. It is divided into old pit and new pit. The texture of the old pit is translucent and almost transparent. The texture of the new pit is opaque. The one with higher transparency is better.

Jadeite ground: A piece of jadeite jewelry that has no green is called ground. The floor mat does not have to be white, it can also be gray, green, purple, emerald green, blue and other colors. A good floor can set off the green, just like the icing on the cake. The poor land has a nice green patch, but it looks like a flower stuck in cow dung. Therefore, good ground sheets include lake green, glass color, and shrimp meat color, followed by lotus root powder ground, white bean ground, and purple flower ground. Inferior ground sheets include ivory ground and taro ground, and the worst are black cloud ground and cat feces ground.

To sum up the above content: the simplest identification method is to look at C-grade jadeite. When looking at it against the light, look carefully at the distribution of the jadeite's color. You can often see that the color is distributed along the cracks. This color distribution is unnatural and looks very much like capillaries. When you see this situation, you can conclude that the color is not naturally present in the jade, but has entered from the outside. In addition, the dyed color has no color roots and often floats on the surface of the jade. The color is also "dead" and "dull", and lacks the aura of natural color. To look at B-grade jadeite, you need to look at it along the light, rotate the jade and find an angle where you can clearly see the reflection from the surface of the jadeite. If you look closely, you can see that the surface of the B-grade jadeite has many pits and pockmarks, which are formed when the silicone on the surface is weathered, abraded and peeled off. In addition, the luster of B-grade jadeite is different from that of A-grade jadeite. A-grade jadeite has a dense structure and a glassy luster on the surface; B-grade jadeite has a waxy luster on the surface due to glue injection. If it is a jade bracelet, tap it gently with other jade or a coin. Grade A jade will make a crisp and pleasant sound, while grade B jade will make a dull and hoarse sound. This is also a simple and easy identification method.
