Beauty has two natural enemies: one is congenital defects, and the other is the ruthlessness of time. Therefore, for beautiful female stars and many women who love beauty, in order to maintain their beauty, they often need to inject hyaluronic acid and get cosmetic injections. However, how many people know that jade also receives hyaluronic acid and cosmetic injections? Not long ago, the National Jewelry and Jade Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (NGTC) held a press conference on "The Truth about Jade" , exhibiting the process and finished products of jade optimization processing and disclosing the consumption traps of jade . Let’s take a look at all the “plastic surgeries” that jadeite can undergo. 1. Hyaluronic acid injection: B-grade B-grade jade, as opposed to natural A-grade jade, does not refer to inferior jade, but jade that has been chemically processed. It is soaked in strong acid solution, bleached, and then filled and consolidated , which is equivalent to injecting hyaluronic acid. Soaking in strong acid can "wash away" the dirt and impurities inside the jade, but this comes at the cost of destroying the jade's originally stable internal structure. Simply put, it will make the jade loose. Filling and consolidation is to "stretch open" the surface cracks of the jade under high temperature and then fill them with chemicals, so that the jade will look full. Jadeite that has been injected with hyaluronic acid will become much more beautiful visually, which is quite deceptive. Some unscrupulous merchants sell it as grade A jadeite, so you need to be careful to identify the characteristics of grade B jadeite. On the one hand, from the surface, the base color of B-grade jade is clean but unnatural, and is very different from natural water quality . On the other hand, the interior of B-grade jade will have reticulations, cracks, pits and depressions caused by strong acid corrosion, as well as bubbles formed during solidification. 2. Whitening injection: C-grade C-grade jade is jade that has been dyed . For some jadeite with rough skin, gaps and holes, dyeing can effectively cover up the disadvantages of the skin color, and the effect is equivalent to "whitening injections." The process of giving jade a "whitening injection" is to first heat it with high temperature to expand the gaps on the skin, then soak the jade directly in organic dyes, and finally dry it to allow the color to further adhere and precipitate. Similarly, C-grade jade can also be distinguished by its characteristics. The color is too fancy . Most of the so-called rainbow jade comes from this way. The color of the internal flesh does not match the skin color. It can be viewed through strong light. There will be cracks and corners on the skin, mostly in a net-like shape. 3. Complete facelift: B+C goods Even inferior to the previous two types is B+C grade jade, which has the characteristics of both B and C grade jade. The processing method also uses various dyeing, acid washing, glue filling, etc. from the inside out, just like a thorough plastic surgery. The surface of B+C goods is a mixture of colors, but the color boundaries are very blurred. On the surface, they look high-end, transparent, and colorful, but in fact, they are very different from the real A-grade jade. Remember: Certificates can be trusted but not relied upon A certificate is the best proof for identifying the authenticity of jadeite, especially a professional certificate issued by a large institution. Below, taking the certificate of the National Gems & Jade Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (NGTC) as an example, I will teach you how to read a certificate. First of all, you should look at the qualifications. For example, the symbol in the red box is a qualification certificate issued by a professional organization. Then look at the test results. If it is marked as processed, it means that the jade has been processed. Then look at the specific instructions in the notes. For example, the bracelet in the picture below is a B+C product. However, the certificate is not omnipotent. For example, the certificate will not indicate the place of origin, the value, and it may not clearly state whether a piece of jade is B-grade or C-grade (it will only say that it has been processed by XX) . Therefore, you need to have certain knowledge of jadeite in order to be able to identify it by comparing it with the certificate. No organization can provide 100% absolutely correct identification results , and the concept of authentication is always relative. Because identification technology is still being improved, while counterfeiting methods are emerging in an endless stream. If you rely entirely on certificates and neglect the mastery and learning of jade knowledge, it would be like trying to find a sword by carving a mark on a boat.
