The birth of a beautiful jade carving, should it be machine-carved or hand-carved?

Jade lovers all know the saying that good jade does not need to be carved, but there are very few materials that can be considered "good jade". It is precisely because of this that industries such as organic carving and computer carving exist. A very ordinary piece of jade can even appreciate in value dozens of times after clever color matching and creative carving!

So how do we tell the difference?

1. Ultrasonic engraving

Ultrasonic engraving process: It improves the engraving efficiency and generally uses ultrasonic waves. This process uses a mold made of high-carbon steel. A machine is used to drive the mold to vibrate and rub back and forth on the surface of the jade material at an ultrasonic frequency. Using this method can quickly achieve the purpose of jade cutting and carving. This production method only requires one mold to copy and paste the jade, which naturally saves time and effort.

If you pay attention, you will find that a large amount of jade is reduced to street goods after being poorly processed. This is also an important reason for the serious waste of jade resources.

2. Hand Carving

Hand-carved, the lines are curved and the three-dimensional sense is stronger. It is not just a shallow relief, but also has concave carving marks. The colored parts will be picked out, which is called "Qiao Se" in the industry. Machines are not smart enough to pick colors now. If you see jadeite with beautiful colors, you can basically tell that it is hand-carved.

There are relatively few tools for computer engraving, generally speaking there are only two or three, while there are many tools for manual engraving.
