When choosing jadeite, is raw jade cheaper? Or is the finished product cheaper?

Buying rough jade is 30% to 50% cheaper than buying finished products. Is this really the case? You will understand after listening to me. Let’s first talk about how the finished jade products are made and how the rough jade is polished. So how do the rough jade products come from? Processing of sheet materials, so theoretically speaking, the three of them are indeed in a progressive relationship, but in fact, finished products, rough goods and sheet materials are three completely parallel markets. There are two channels for jadeite raw stones to enter the country, one is the public auction, and the other is to go through the second one. We can’t talk about the second one, so let’s just talk about the first one.

The materials on the public auction are bid in the form of bidding, which is completely open to anyone with money. After the owners bid for the materials on the public auction, some of them are directly made into finished products. These finished products have not been resold, so they are first-hand. But some of the materials are not made into finished products, but are cut into sheets and flow into the sheet market. So are all the materials sold in the sheet market made into finished products? Only part of it.

Another part of it is put back for sale again, which is called speculation. Therefore, what you see in the sheet material market are not necessarily first-hand goods. The same is true in the raw material market. Everyone may have heard too many stories about finding bargains in raw materials, but the reality is that the price of raw materials is not cheaper than the finished product at all, and may even be more expensive, because this game is all about eyesight. If your eyesight is not good enough, the owner can make more money.

Second, don't dream of finding a big bargain on rough goods, such as 30% or 50% off. In fact, if you can find goods worth 10,000 yuan for 9,000 yuan, that would be great. After all, there is a margin of 1,000 yuan. You can sell it cheaper when you want to attract customers, and you can also sell it quickly when you want to clear the stock. But don't overlook the fact that rough goods are gambling in nature. If you don't find them well, you will lose money. People in the industry enjoy visiting the rough goods market every day just because there are opportunities to find bargains here, but it does not guarantee that you will find bargains. In fact, in the jade industry, as long as you have a keen eye, understand the market and have patience, you can find bargains whether it is finished products, rough goods or sheets. If you know nothing, there are pitfalls everywhere.
