Today I will show you the process of a master carving a jade plaque. A good piece of material must be made by a master with superb carving skills. What is being carved today is the Amoghasiddhi Buddha of the North (Amoghavajra Tathagata), one of the Five Buddhas of the Vajra Realm in Tantric Buddhism. Speaking of the Five Buddhas, let me give you some basic information about them: Vairocana Buddha (Mahavairocana Tathagata) in the center; Akshobhya Buddha (Acala Tathagata) in the east; Ratnasambhava Buddha (Ratnasambhava Tathagata) in the south; Amitabha Buddha in the west; Amoghasiddhi Buddha (Amoghavajra Tathagata) in the north. Among them, the Five Buddhas also represent five kinds of wisdom, colors, directions, troubles, connotations, pure land, etc. So why does this jade have such a theme? Because the body of the Buddha Amoghasiddhi in the north is green, he guards the Pure Land of Victory and represents all achievements. He can reasonably resolve all the suffering of jealousy and symbolizes that he can accomplish all the Tathagata's undertakings and the undertakings of all sentient beings with the convenience of great compassion. In order to carve such a work, in addition to the master's solid foundation and proficient skills, understanding of Buddhism and personal cultivation are also very important. First draw a rough sketch of the plane, and then make a reasonable layout according to the shape, color depth, and cracks of the jade material. Use the engraving pen to remove the excess parts and roughly carve out the general outline of the work. Once the hat, fingers, ears, etc. are reasonably made and all the surfaces are neatly processed, you can start working on the face and more detailed carving. When carving, you need to constantly add water to prevent high-temperature breakage, and constantly apply light to reasonably avoid cracks, so that you can create a perfect work. The carving is completed, and the seal of the Northern Amoghasiddhi Buddha is the Abhaya Mudra. The left hand holds the corner of the robe, and the right hand is open with five fingers raised and the palm facing outwards. A good sculptor will pay attention to the overall integrity of the work. In addition to carving on the front, the back and the two sides are also very important. After the entire surface of the work is smooth and the lines are polished, you can find a professional jade polishing master to polish it. After polishing, the aura of the jade is highlighted, with a kind and confident face, a calm demeanor and a certainty of victory. The details in every aspect are handled very appropriately and reasonably. According to Buddhist scriptures, with the blessing of the Buddha in the north, practitioners can accomplish actions that benefit themselves and others, stay away from troubles, and achieve great things. fcgc66 fcpf18 |
