Jadeite collection, investing in fine products has a future

Jadeite collection, investing in fine products has a future

1. When did the Chinese become interested in jade?

Jade can be divided into soft and hard types. The best soft jade is China's Hetian jade, and the best hard jade is Burmese jadeite.

Jade has been produced in China for a long time. It is said that it existed in the Yuan Dynasty, but the most accurate records are from the Ming Dynasty. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, various jade products became popular in the imperial palace. In the late Qing Dynasty, because Empress Dowager Cixi favored jadeite, dignitaries vied with each other to follow her example, thus creating a jadeite craze, which has been very popular among people until now.

2. Why do Chinese people love jade?

1. Related to the royal leadership.

2. Jade itself is very beautiful, and its color is close to that of gemstones. It is suitable for wearing and decoration. It has the value of added value investment and is a fortune.

3. Jadeite also possesses many virtues of jade, such as benevolence, quality, courage, righteousness, and integrity, which is what people often say: people raise jade and jade raises people.

4. Jade contains rare elements that are good for the human body.

3. What are the characteristics of the distribution of today’s jade collection market?

Jade collections mainly consist of bracelets, pendants and ornaments; the grades vary, with most of them being mid- to low-grade jade, accounting for about 96%-98% of the market share. High-end jadeite is mainly held by some large brand jadeite dealers. The final destinations of the collections are mainly the following categories: one is jade dealers and people who run businesses and investments; the other is rich people and officials.

4. What are the risks in the jade market for newcomers?

First of all, I do not approve of ordinary people saving money to invest in art. Art investment has two characteristics: one is uncertainty. It is difficult to say that your investment this year will increase in the next few years. What if it does not rise in 10 years? Second, it is highly professional. Without a certain hobby and long-term understanding, it is difficult for ordinary people to distinguish between good and bad. Without professional guidance, they will be blind when investing.

5. What suggestions do you have for newcomers who want to enter the jade investment market?

If ordinary consumers want to invest in jade, they can first consider those that are suitable for them to wear, because jade itself is a piece of jewelry. It’s best to buy high rather than low. For example, if you buy ice-type, Zhengyang Green and other good quality jades, the quality, water content and color must all be good. As an investment, such collections have great potential for appreciation. If they are ordinary, they may be difficult to sell.

6. How to judge the quality of jadeite? What are the tips?

You can select the species, water content, color, etc. on the spot.

Let’s talk about the type first. The old pit type is equivalent to the seed jade in Hetian jade. The jadeite in the “old pit” is of better quality and has more moisture. This is because there are various ores of varying qualities in the primary deposits, which are transported by water and deposited into secondary deposits. Some poor quality jades, such as those with cracks, coarse grains, loose structures, and impurities, will be naturally sorted and eliminated. Finally, what remain in the riverbed are mainly jades with denser texture and finer structure.

Therefore, the old pit type appears to have a delicate texture, hard quality, and a relatively uniform luster, and there are more high-quality products such as emerald and imperial green.

The next grade is glass type. Glass jade, as the name suggests, is as transparent as glass and of very fine quality. But being completely transparent is not necessarily the best; slightly transparent ones have a better texture.

The second is high ice, and below ice is ice glutinous. The ones that ordinary people are more exposed to are mainly bean-type and oily green. They are okay to wear yourself, but it is not recommended to invest in them.

Color, mainly emerald. The darker and brighter the color, the more it is called Zhengyang Green, and the better if the color is in flakes. In addition, there are red colors called Fei, yellow Fei, violet, etc.

In fact, jade comes in many colors, including green, purple, red, yellow, gray, black, white and so on. The most valuable is green, followed by purple, then red and yellow. If a piece of jade has all the colors of green, violet and red, it is called "Fu Lu Shou Jade".

Nowadays, purple jade is very popular. What used to cost tens of thousands of yuan may now be worth hundreds of thousands or even millions. If purple and green appear on a piece of jade, forming the so-called "spring color", it is also very precious.

7. How to distinguish between A-grade, B-grade and C-grade jadeite in the jade market today?

First, let’s clarify the concept. Grade A jade is natural jade, which has not been chemically treated and has natural color and texture; Grade B jade is bleached and injected with glue. The transparency and color of jade are improved by soaking and washing with strong acid; Grade C jade is dyed jade, which is artificially colored, usually with organic or inorganic dyes. In addition, there is a kind of B+C jade, which is jade that has been cleaned with strong acid, injected with glue, and artificially colored.

Place the jadeite under a fluorescent light and observe its color changes. Grade A and C jadeite will not change, but grade B jadeite will fluoresce and appear whitish. C goods have been dyed, so their color is distributed along the cracks in an uneven manner, which can be seen with the naked eye if observed carefully.
