1. Material selection

2. Cutting

After selecting the material, use a saw to cut off the cracked or defective parts, then draw the diameter of the beads you want on the raw material and then cut it.

3. Chamfer

After cutting, the jade beads still have obvious edges and corners, so a chamfering machine is needed to remove these edges and corners so that the beads can be ground on a large scale. During this process, the edges and corners of the jade raw materials will gradually be worn away, and the shape of the beads will basically take shape.

4. Grinding and drilling

Although the chamfering machine can remove the edges and corners of small jade beads, it cannot grind the beads into a very round shape, so a bead grinding machine is needed to grind them into a round shape. Under the operation of the bead grinding machine, the small jade pieces will gradually be ground into spherical shapes after chamfering. Next, you can start drilling. Generally speaking, good beads are drilled after the parts are manually selected, while ordinary beads are drilled using ultrasound.

5. Polishing and finishing

Finally, the finished jade beads undergo the final finishing process - polishing. Generally, beads with a diameter of more than 20 mm are polished by hand, and beads below 20 mm are polished with a vibration barrel. Then string them together to form a string, and it becomes the bead necklace we wear in daily life. Isn’t it beautiful?

In terms of appreciation potential, due to the gradual decrease in high-quality jade raw materials in recent years and the Myanmar government's control over jade raw materials, very few high-quality raw materials are flowing into the mainland. Generally, raw materials with good color and quality only account for a small piece of the entire jade raw material.
