Putting aside the question of whether heating jade can remove wax, the heating step itself is harmful to jade. Taking it out to wash after heating is even more harmful to the jade. So why do some people try every means to remove the wax from the surface of jade? This is because many customers misunderstand the jade waxing process as a jade processing and counterfeiting process!

In fact, it is normal to have wax on the finished jade products, because the last step after jade is processed into finished products is to wax the jade, so the newly processed jade has wax, but the wax will evaporate after a period of time. It has no harm to the human body whether there is wax or not, because waxing is a traditional process.

Waxing is done during the polishing process to make the surface of the finished jade product smooth, shiny, with a beautiful and uniform luster. The wax is melted and enters the tiny pits or cracks on the surface of the jade after polishing to fill the unevenness, make the surface smoother, and prevent the entry of oil stains.

Jade waxing is recognized in the jade industry and national jewelry standards. It falls within the scope of jade surface optimization and can better protect jade. Now, nine out of ten jades on the market have been waxed, which is a normal phenomenon.

In fact, jade is a product of nature after all, and it is impossible for it to be flawless. After waxing, surface cracks or pits can be covered, making the surface of the finished jade product clean, smooth, lustrous and transparent.

In addition to preventing the entry of oil stains, another purpose of waxing is to provide jade with a protective layer to prevent the moisture inside the jade from being lost easily. It’s just like when girls put on sunscreen, the purpose is the same! Because waxing is non-toxic and harmless, generally all polished jade will be waxed.
