What kind of jade has a high starting price?

The quality of jade is mainly determined by its water quality, color, and whether it has any flaws. The surface of raw jade seems to be covered with a layer of gauze, making it difficult to see the water quality, cracks, or bright color. Although it is easier to see the inside of jade than the original stone, it is still relatively uncertain compared to spot jade (referring to the polished product) which can more intuitively show the quality of water quality.

The quality of jadeite can be divided into four categories: glass type, ice type, glutinous type and bean type. Among them, the texture of glass type jadeite is the best and the yield is the highest, while the yield of bean type jadeite is lower. In addition, if it is divided by the field, there are two categories: old pit type and new pit type. Generally speaking, the texture of old pit type jadeite is good and the yield is high. However, it does not mean that the texture of all old-pit jade is better than that of new-pit jade. Moreover, in recent years, as the old-pit jade resources have been mined in large quantities, the existing resources of old-pit jade are actually not many. Currently, most of the jade on the market are new-pit jade.
