The jadeite flakes are of average quality, and the resulting jadeite pendants are bright, shiny and icy, which are stunning in their own right!

What I’m going to share with you today is a stunning carving from a piece of colored jadeite, the Cicada Pendant! This piece of material is very thick, the quality is particularly good, and the water head is very transparent. This piece of material is colored, but it is not very obvious under the light. Some cracks on the piece of material need to be removed, and the shape needs to be trimmed before starting to carve!

Before fine carving, the embryo is first pressed and shaped. The carving master cleverly uses color to design the green part as the body of the cicada. After the general shape is determined, the next step is fine carving!

When you look at the piece of material that was shown to you at the beginning, you can see that there are side cracks. At that time, it was cut along the cracks, so now the edges of the piece of material are a little thin. It doesn’t matter. These can all be modified with carving!

The carving is completed. The cicada has two pairs of membranous wings with basically the same shape and a wide and short head. The carving is particularly vivid. The cicada is lying on a dead leaf!

The carving has been completed. The color of the place where the cicada is carved is clearly separated from the dead leaves. It looks like the details are really well handled. You can feel it by looking at the wings of the cicada, and its legs seem to be still beating!

Let’s take a look at the carving on the back. The leaves are full, the lines are clear, and the veins are distinct. The emerald leaves are full of vitality, and vigor and life are their biggest characteristics. Sometimes, a seemingly ordinary piece of material or sheet will never be known how beautiful it will be in the end unless it is carved!

After polishing, it looks so beautiful, the color is more vivid and bright, the leaves become transparent and moist, full of luster, I love this icy feeling!

The cicadas lying on the leaves are named golden branches and jade leaves. Listen to the birds in spring, the cicadas in summer, the insects in autumn and the snow in winter! Seeing this work is as if I can hear the sound of cicadas, as if calling for a sunny and hot summer!
