There are many types of jadeite. Let us teach you how to recognize the types of jadeite.

Everyone knows that there are many types of jade, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish them, especially for "newbies" who have just entered the jade circle. Things like ice type, hibiscus type, glutinous type... just sound dizzying.

There is a saying: "The layman looks at the color, the expert looks at the species"! It can be seen that the type of jade plays a key role in the quality of jade. In order to let everyone clearly distinguish the types of jade! Organize the knowledge about each type of jade to help your friends increase their knowledge!

Highlight the key points and remember to collect them

1. Glass type

As the name suggests, it is as transparent as glass, of very fine quality, with dense crystal particles, and is the best among jadeite. It has the highest transparency and the most delicate internal structure among all jades, and its appearance looks very much like transparent glass. It is the most high-end grade of jade currently on the market.

2. Ice

The overall feeling of ice jade is like ice formed from water, refreshing and with a hint of hazy cool beauty.

3. Ice glutinous/glutinous

Ice-glutinous jade generally refers to a glutinous jade with good transparency and water head. It is a type of jade that can reach the ice level. The texture is between transparent and opaque, just like cooked glutinous rice. The main characteristic is that its transparency is slightly lower than that of ice type, giving people the feeling of turbid glutinous rice soup, which belongs to the translucent category.

The glutinous variety can be further divided into glutinous ice variety and glutinous rice variety. The glutinous ice type refers to a type that is slightly more turbid than the ice type, just like ice with slightly more impurities. Some people also classify it as ice type.

4. Bean seeds

Bean-type is a very vivid name. We know that jade is a polycrystalline. If the crystals that make up jade are coarser, such as larger than one millimeter, they will be easily seen by the naked eye. Most of the coarse jade crystals are short columnar. When the boundaries of these short columnar crystals are very clear, they look like green beans, so they are called bean-type.

5. White base green

White-based green is one of the most widely distributed types of Burmese jade. Its characteristic is that the base color is generally white. Of course, there will sometimes be some impurities. The green of white-based green is brighter, because the white base color makes the green and white more distinct. Most of the green parts appear in clumps. These aspects are different from the anthocyanin type.

6. Hibiscus

Its color is generally light green without yellow, very elegant, and there is no obvious boundary between the fiber particles. Although it is not transparent, it is warm and elegant, with a kind of otherworldly beauty!

7. Oily green

Oily green jade is a dark green type of jade. Its green is mixed with gray and blue, and the surface has a slightly oily luster, so it is called oily green. Although the color is dark, the fineness and transparency of the Oil Green variety are usually relatively high. The transparency of some Oil Green varieties is even close to that of glass and ice varieties.

Because of the color problem, although the texture is good, the price of Youqing jade is not high in the market and belongs to the category of mid-to-low-end jade.

8. Dragon Stone

It is a legendary top-grade jadeite, also known as the Shenlong species. It is emerald green, bright and bright, with even color distribution, strong fluorescence and very little cotton. It is a high-quality jadeite.
