Before and after polishing

Jade without polishing is like a beautiful woman without makeup. The effect after polishing is comparable to plastic surgery. So how many steps are there in jade polishing? The first step is to apply a layer of polishing powder on the surface of the jadeite; the second step is to grind the surface with a 2000-mesh grinding wheel; the third step is to repeat the previous two steps, usually twice; the fourth step is to use a brush to apply diamond powder on the surface of the jadeite and then polish it with a hard brush; the fifth step is to use bamboo dipped in diamond powder for those small places that cannot be polished with large tools, such as bamboo chopsticks for larger ones and bamboo toothpicks for smaller ones; the sixth step is to polish the jadeite with hard leather after applying diamond powder. Most cowhide is used in China, and elephant skin is mostly used in Myanmar; the seventh step is to clean the polished jadeite with an ultrasonic machine, and wipe the places that cannot be cleaned with alcohol; the eighth step is to apply a layer of wax on the surface of the finished jadeite, and thus a piece of exquisite jadeite is born. The polishing of jade is a supplement to the creation of jade. The polished jade surface can show more gloss.
