It can be divided into five categories according to color and saturation: royal purple, red purple, blue purple, violet, and pink purple.

(1) Royal Purple

Refers to a rich and pure purple. Its color tone is very pure, the saturation is generally high, and the brightness is medium, thus showing a sense of wealth, grace and generosity. This kind of purple is actually very rare and belongs to the theoretical grade jadeite. Even among purple jadeite, it is hard to find one in a hundred miles, and it has a high collection value.

(2) Red and purple

A purple color that tends to be jade red. Its color saturation is usually medium, and it is rare to see a very high saturation type. It is not common in purple jadeite either, and its value is highly recognized.

(3) Blue Purple

A purple that leans towards blue. Its saturation varies greatly, from light blue-purple to dark blue-purple. It is a more common type of purple jadeite, and is called "eggplant purple" in the jargon. When the saturation is high, the color often has a gray-blue feel and the brightness is generally lower than other types.

(4) Violet

The most common type of commercial jadeite, this purple ranges from medium deep to light in color. It often appears in some jadeite with a coarse or fine texture. Sometimes it appears with green to form the so-called "spring color", which is the standard color of violet jadeite.

(5) Pink purple

It is a lighter purple that may have a reddish or bluish feel, but it does not reach the level of red-purple or blue-purple. Although its purple color is still relatively obvious, its saturation is relatively low. It often appears in some jadeite with good water content and fine texture, and its commercial value is the lowest among all purples.
