Jade is a colorful jewel that comes in a variety of colors including green, purple, red, yellow, blue, black, and white.

The most valuable color among them is the common emerald green, followed by purple, red, yellow, etc. which are also more precious colors.

The so-called texture, called "species" in jargon, mainly refers to the structure of jade, and the texture is usually described in terms of coarseness and fineness.

Glass-type jadeite that is full of emerald green is the best of jadeite and extremely rare, so it has the greatest collection value .

Ice type: Ice type jade is very similar to glass type jade, but its transparency is lower than glass type. It is sub-transparent , often with a fine texture, and the surface "fluorescence" is not obvious. It often contains "white cotton" in the form of dots or small clumps. The less “white cotton” there is, the purer the jade is , and its value is correspondingly higher.

Agate: As the name suggests, agate jade has a texture and luster similar to agate, and its texture is as delicate as glass. Its clarity is generally pure, but its transparency is lower than ice type and it is translucent , so it looks very warm. Agate jade can be seen in rich emerald green, yellow, red, blue and other colors, and sometimes two or three colors are distributed together. For jade lovers who pursue good color and good quality , agate is the preferred variety.

Lotus root powder type: The characteristics of lotus root powder type jade are similar to those of agate type, but its transparency is slightly lower than that of agate type. Its texture is like cooked lotus root powder , slightly transparent, fine texture, and warm color. The most common colors are eggplant purple , violet, blue color, and purple with blue color.

Oily Green: Oily Green jade has a medium to coarse texture, with a transparency ranging from slightly transparent to translucent, and an oily luster . The color is grayish and bluish green. Jade lovers prefer the ice-type oily green , and the worst is the bean-type oily green. Generally, there are more mid- and low-grade jadeites.

Bean-type: Bean-type jade is the most common variety of jade. Its texture is coarse to coarse, its transparency is poor, it is mostly opaque , and it has great variations. There are many categories. Almost 90% of jade on the market are bean-type, hence the saying "nine out of ten jades are beans" .

White-based Green: The name of the white-based green jade is more vivid. It has a fine to medium texture, a snow-white base, a dense structure , and is basically opaque . Emerald green color is distributed on the white base, and there are often small cracks. It is a medium to low-grade jade variety.

Hibiscus: The texture of Hibiscus jade is similar to that of White Green Jade. The crystal grains are slightly coarse, the texture is medium, and it is slightly transparent , but the transparency and luster are slightly better than White Green Jade. The color is generally light green , which is worse than White Green Jade. The texture is finer than Bean Jade , and the boundaries of the mineral particles cannot be seen. It belongs to the medium and low-grade jade variety.
