Carving the floating green jadeite into landscape pendants, the finished product is exquisite and charming

Landscape themes are very common in jade carvings. They can be carved with clever colors and without cracks. The themes can well accommodate the bright spots and flaws on the jade materials, thus creating an ever-changing theme pattern layout.

The owner's first intention after cutting out this piece of jade was to carve a pendant with a landscape theme. We can see that there are small cracks and dirty parts on all four sides of the material, so we choose the perfect place in the middle to take the piece and keep the green part of the material to use as a color design when composing the picture!

The pattern combination of landscape themes is very rich. It has the implication that mountains and rivers can soothe one’s temperament and is deeply loved by jade lovers. The jade carver’s composition inspiration for this landscape pendant comes from a poem by Li Bai, “Questions and Answers in the Mountains”.

When asked why I live in the green mountains, I smile but do not answer, for I feel at ease.

Peach blossoms and flowing water disappear into the distance, a world apart from the human world.

The jade carving master mainly uses the green color bands to explore thoughts and make use of colors, combines them with the scenes in the poems, arranges the positions of each element in the subject matter, and vividly displays the content of the poem on the jade.

Use bas-relief to carve the pattern on the jade, outlining and expressing every detail clearly; use full-bright polishing to better reflect the natural water quality of the jade.
