Do you know how to identify jadeite?

Chinese people's feelings towards jade are very complex and changeable. So, what are the methods to identify jadeite?

Natural jadeite is known as A-grade jadeite. It is a prerequisite for a piece of jewelry to have collection and investment value, and the appraisal certificate will also specially mark it. However, due to the high popularity of jadeite, counterfeiting methods have continued to emerge in an endless stream.

In the market, jade jewelry that has undergone special treatment is called jade B goods, C goods, B+C goods, etc. In addition, there is another type of jade that is imitated as jadeite, such as Australian jade, water jade, Xiuyan jade, etc. After being soaked in strong acid, the structure of B-grade jadeite will become looser. Therefore, apart from its decorative effect, B-grade jade has no other uses and cannot be used for collection or investment. Moreover, if you wear it for a long time, it will gradually fade, become dull, and even turn yellow.

C-grade jade refers to dyed jade, which has undergone chemical treatment and is divided into partial dyeing and overall dyeing. Currently, the popular green jadeite and purple jadeite on the market are the most processed products. The color of dyed jade will be very beautiful at first glance. However, if you watch it for a long time, it will feel empty and unreal. Although it is evenly distributed, its true form can be easily revealed under a magnifying glass, especially for jadeite that is dyed throughout, the colorant will be distributed along the gaps.

The color distribution of most natural jadeite is uneven.
