Two pieces of floating green jadeite, with good quality and fine texture, vivid floating green, perfect whole body without any cracks, and a clean base without cotton. Based on the distribution of the green color, it can be found that this is a piece of material that is very suitable for Buddhist themes. After comparison and analysis, the jade carver decided to design two square Guanyin plaques. Based on his understanding of Guanyin Bodhisattva and his carving experience, and with a reverent heart towards Guanyin, the jade carver finally finalized the designs of "Free Guanyin" and "Ride-a-Dragon Guanyin". The two designers found clean and white parts on the material to carve the face and design Guanyin, and made different color designs on the green part. The jade carver first made the Guanyin riding a dragon, using bas-relief to outline the lines of Guanyin and the dragon. Shallow carving is a test of the jade carver's skills. On the one hand, it requires a steady hand and even strength, smooth and clear lines, and orderly thickness; On the other hand, it requires the artistic conception to be properly created, and a pattern combination rich in artistic atmosphere should be depicted through simple lines. The carving of Guanyin's face is the key to the success of this work. The jade carver only uses a few simple cuts to outline the compassionate appearance of Guanyin, which is truly a great carving skill. As the saying goes, "there is a front and a back, a beginning and a tail", the front and back of fine jade works respond to each other. The jade carver outlined auspicious clouds on the green part and designed a dragon's tail in the clouds. The entire layout on the back echoes the front. This is the ingenuity! The work integrates Buddhist culture into jade. While exploring the charm of jade, it also gives jade beautiful sustenance and hope. This is the charm of jade carving and the core value of jade carving - the jade must be well-crafted, the craftsmanship must have meaning, and the meaning must be auspicious! This "Guanyin Riding a Dragon" has not been polished yet. What do you think of it?
