How to deal with cracks in jadeite!

Jade was formed in nature under certain low-pressure conditions after hundreds of millions of years of crustal movement. The movement of the earth's crust can change the world, so it is inevitable that jade will have its own growth lines.

These cracks are inherent in jade. It is because of the cracks that jade is invaded by various color-causing elements such as chromium, manganese, iron, etc., which form the colorful colors of jade. If there were no natural cracks, the jade we see would have no color.

During the natural transportation process, jadeite will also be impacted as it rolls from the mountains to the rivers, so it will also form cracks. There is no piece of jadeite raw stone without cracks, all of them will have cracks more or less.

The perfect jade we see is because cracks have been avoided and flaws and cracks have been cut away, leaving only the most perfect side of the jade, so the price of such jade is also very expensive.

Of course, some cracks in jade are unavoidable, so such cracks exist naturally. We divide cracks into stone patterns and cracks. The difference is that what you can scratch with your fingernails are cracks, while what you can't scratch with your fingernails are stone patterns.

The stone pattern has little effect on jade, but the cracks still have some impact. Therefore, we should treat the cracks of jade rationally when purchasing jade. If we want to buy perfect jade, we need to pay the corresponding money. If the water quality and color are good and there are cracks, the price will definitely be much lower.

Therefore, you should be tolerant of the cracks in jade. It is impossible for every piece of naturally formed jade to be perfect. Don’t miss the one you like when you come across it. Just like the Venus de Milo with broken arms, incompleteness is also a kind of beauty.
