How to Carve a Lotus Flower

First of all, we need to select the materials. The lotus materials should be clean, with good color, and no cracks or impurities. Only then the carved lotus will be vivid, lifelike, and exquisite.

Second design: first use a pencil to outline the lotus pattern, then draw it with a brush to ensure a clear pattern when carving.

Push three layers, use thallium sheets to separate the outer petals of the lotus, and make a concave in the middle to reserve a round shape to make the lotus canopy, making the middle low and the two sides high to make large lotus petals.

The first layer of petals on the outside are slightly smaller, the third layer are larger, the petals are arranged in an orderly manner, not too far apart, and round in the middle.

Four concave lotus petals, use a brush to redraw the lotus as shown above, for better carving. Then use nails to hollow out the lotus petals. The first and second layers of petals should be half open, and the third layer should tightly wrap the lotus pod. Carve out the lotus pod, and use small nails or balls to hollow out the third layer as well. Don't hollow it too open. Most lotus flowers have three and a half layers of petals, which are beautiful. The second layer of petals is large and tall, while the third layer of petals is small and low, and the lotus pod is carved into a round shape.

Grind the lotus petals with five-spice powder into a paste. The edges of the petals should be curled, the heads should be pointed, and there should be a curved shape on the outside. Use the tip of a jujube beard to tuck the base of the petals to make the flower core round and three-dimensional. Each petal should be tucked clearly, and if there are places that cannot be rubbed, use a ball and a small nail.

Sixth, do fine work. Use old jujube whiskers to grind the petals, use small edges to make the edges of the petals smooth, use small nails to make the edge of the lotus pod, and use the concave support to make the lotus core. Use small dates to grind the edges of the lotus seeds to make them curl up.
