Jade, from raw stone to finished product, needs to go through a series of processing steps. Different materials are suitable for making different finished products.

Jade materials are divided into the following categories by use: 1. Ring materials 2. Flower pieces 3. Bracelet materials 4. Ornament materials

The process from rough stone to finished product:

Material inspection, cutting, slicing, designing, shaping, embryo making, carving, polishing, waxing

Inspect the materials, analyze the type, species, and color of the raw stone; for color material, analyze the color trend; analyze the grain direction, which is related to geological movements and gravity. Jadeite raw stone is formed by multiple periods of geological movements, and can be roughly divided into: jadeification period, colorization period, and leatherization period. The ring material generally has all three stages, while the seed material often has no obvious effect in the colorization period, because the seed material is too old and the color cannot grow into it.

When cutting and removing the color material, you must pay attention to the color and grain direction. Cutting in different directions will have different polishing effects. This requires experience accumulation and is also the core skill of jade workers.

Slicing, designing, shaping, and embryo making, taking into account the water head and the shape of the goods;

For carving, the bare body basically does not need carving, but is machine-milled; for decorative pieces, find different types of carving masters to process, such as Buddha, Guanyin, Ruyi, gourd, bean, leaf, and other themes;

Polishing, different abrasive materials are advanced layer by layer, 240 mesh, 400 mesh, 600 mesh, thousands of mesh, leather wheel plus thousands of diamond powder

Waxing is a protective film applied to the finished product to reduce oxidation.
