The difference between real jade and fake jade, I will tell you today

Want to buy jadeite, but don’t know where to start? Afraid of fakes and wasting money

When buying jadeite, I have no way to identify it. Is it a good value for money, or not worth it?

Yaolu Jewelry, factory direct sales, quality assurance, all kinds of jade, everything you need; free valuation, and exclusive jade identification methods, which can improve your health and beauty, ward off evil spirits and drive away filth. Good jade will accompany you throughout your life, so action is worse than just thinking about it.

The current jade market is full of fakes. If you want to avoid fakes and buy good jade, you need to learn some basic identification methods. Today I will teach you some identification methods.

1. Observe the surface

Among the jadeite on the market, only Grade A jadeite is natural jadeite. Grade B jadeite and Grade C jadeite are both fake jadeite that have been chemically treated. Although on the surface they are almost the same as natural jade, if you observe carefully with a magnifying glass you will find that the surface of natural jade is very smooth, while the surface of fake jade usually has some tiny cracks. These cracks are caused by erosion by chemical solutions when chemical solutions are used to make counterfeit jade.

2. Weight Identification

For objects of the same volume, the greater the density, the greater the weight. Here we take the jade bracelet as an example. Jade is a kind of jade with relatively high density. The relative density of jade reaches: 3.30-3.36. Therefore, natural jade is relatively heavy.

However, because fake jade is soaked in chemical solutions, its internal structure has been destroyed and its density is lower than that of natural jade. Therefore, taking jade bracelets of the same size as an example, the weight of a natural jade bracelet is obviously heavier than that of a fake jade bracelet.

Therefore, when buying jade, you can also identify the authenticity of jade by weight.

3. Certificate of Appraisal

When jewelry and jade accessories are sold, they should be accompanied by an exclusive identification certificate, and jade is no exception. The appraisal certificate records the detailed information of the corresponding jadeite in detail, and the appraisal certificate is also the best guarantee of the authenticity of the jadeite.

Therefore, when purchasing jadeite, you can ask the merchant to issue an appraisal certificate issued by a professional testing and appraisal agency.

If the merchant cannot issue it, there is a high probability that there is a problem and you need to purchase with caution.

4. Listen to the sound

The fake jade on the market has been bleached and filled, because the mineral particles are filled with colloid. Therefore, it makes a dull sound when tapped lightly, which is significantly different from the crisp sound of natural jade.

Five Senses of Color

In addition to tiny cracks on the surface, the color of fake jade also appears to be superficial. A close observation will reveal that it has no color roots. This is because when chemical dyeing is used, the pigment cannot penetrate into the interior of the jade, so the color gives people a feeling of floating on the surface. Natural jade, because it is formed naturally, there are color roots inside the jade.
