Why are most top-grade jadeite plain?

Careful jade lovers may find that the real top-grade jade are all plain jade.

What is plain jade?

There are currently two types of jade on the market: plain and carved! Plain jade is jade that is not decorated and has no carved patterns on the surface. Common ones include the "Wu Shi Pai" and so on!

Real plain jade has extremely high requirements for materials! Due to the differences in materials, even plain jadeite has different grades. We will talk about this later, but there is one thing in common: they are all taken from the best part of a piece of material!

Carved jadeite usually has complex patterns, such as landscapes. Generally, jade with patterns has some defects in the pattern position, and the lines are carved along the dirty spots and defects, making the appearance of the jade better!

Why is top-grade jadeite so expensive?

1. Scarce materials

Plain jade requires that the surface of the jade raw materials must not have any cracks or blemishes, even cotton wool, etc., not even the slightest blemish can be present.

2. Old varieties with good color

If the jade is too coarse and tender (bean-type, new mine) and the color is average, it cannot be made into plain jade. Generally, excellent quality, water and color have almost become the standard for plain jade!

3. Extremely aesthetic

Unlike other jewels, perfect jades are all top treasures of nature, and their quantity and value are incomparable to gold, diamonds and other gems!

4. Better value-added and value-preserving performance

Taking into account factors such as market supply, color, and type, it is found that "plain" jade has greater appreciation potential than "carved" jade. The perfection of the raw materials determines the value of jade!
