Every time I face jade materials, I always have a feeling of familiarity and unfamiliarity. What is familiar is the characteristics of every inch of jade, and what is unfamiliar is that these characteristics are ever-changing and different. I guess most jade carving masters would have a headache when seeing this piece of jadeite raw stone for the first time, because of the visible impurities, cracks, and messy colors! It is very difficult to carve out this piece of material!

But as I always say, “There is no waste in the eyes of a jade carving master.” As long as you are willing to spend time to understand it, you can still find highlights of breakthrough inspiration in jade. We can see that there is a clean part in the middle of the jade, which is our entry point for composition. After a round of divergent thinking, the jade carving master came up with the theme of "The Eternal Brightness of Dharma Nature and the Eternal Walker".

In the layout of the subject matter, the jade carving master cleverly used paper, fans, bamboo slips, bronze fragments, oracle bone inscriptions, Buddhist scripture fragments, calligraphy and painting, decorative patterns and other patterns to cover up the asbestos and cracks on the material, and created a colorful creation on the yellow part, which not only makes the work better in beauty and perfection, but also makes the charm of the work more dynamic!

The high relief carving technique makes the pattern of the work appear orderly with high and low levels, and exquisite and convex. The traveler closed his eyes and meditated, and the fragments of scriptures around him seemed to appear before his eyes as time passed!
