Look at the "internal characteristics" of jadeite: "fly wings" are the small sparkling surfaces seen on the surface of jadeite under the sunlight, like small wing-shaped sparkling particles. It is a unique characteristic of jadeite, and the size of the sparkling surface is related to the size of the jadeite particles. It is one of the key identification marks for identifying genuine jadeite, but it is not the only one. The "orange peel effect" is that when A-grade jade is observed on the polished surface using reflected light, it will produce surface characteristics of bumps and depressions of different sizes and positions similar to those of orange peel. It is only in A-grade jade that it is more prominent, and the boundary between the protrusions and depressions gradually and smoothly transitions; in B-grade jade, there is a crack separating them, which is called "acid etching reticulation", which is significantly different from the "orange peel effect".

Look at the luster of the jadeite: The distinguishing characteristic of natural A-grade jadeite is its obvious glass luster, which is like the reflected light from the surface of glass. The luster is very bright, which is especially obvious in high-end jadeite. However, in some inferior jadeite, it manifests as a waxy luster.

Look at the color of jade: There are many colors of jade, the most valuable of which is green jade, also known as "emerald green". Therefore, various types of artificially colored jade have flooded the market in large quantities. The color of jade is naturally distributed, lustrous and transparent; while colored jade lacks luster, giving people a "dry" or "lack of water" feeling. Although the surface of the coated jade is very smooth, it does not have the orange peel effect and has a sticky feeling.

Listening: The main way to distinguish sound is by tapping. Usually, an agate stick is used to gently tap the jade. This requires some experience in controlling the strength. The sound produced by A-grade jadeite when struck is melodious and pleasant, and sounds crisp and lively. The sound emitted by B goods and B+C goods is low, and the authenticity can be clearly distinguished by comparing the two.

Weigh: The density of jadeite is 3.33 g/cubic centimeter, which is greater than similar nephrite, quartzite jade and other jades. Therefore, when you weigh an A-grade jadeite in your hand, you will feel a noticeable "heaviness". If it feels light, you must pay attention and make a judgment based on other characteristics.

Certificate: In fact, the easiest way to identify is to find the inspection certificate. The logos on the inspection certificate: CMA, CAL, CNAL. Remember that any of the three logos is fine, especially the first logo, CMA, which is the basic requirement of our country's laws for testing and inspection agencies. Currently, certificates issued by inspection agencies are equipped with QR codes. One QR code matches one content interface.
