The 6 steps of making a jade bracelet, the most difficult one is drawing circles

There is an old saying: "Why is it so wide, and why does it jump out of the wrist?"

The ancient meaning of "tiaotuo" is bracelet.

In the eyes of ancient women,

Bracelets are not only ornaments to embellish yourself,

It is also a symbol of sentiment.

The functions of bracelets can be roughly divided into three aspects:

1. Show identity and highlight personality;

2. Beautify the wearer;

3. Health care.

However, most people probably don’t know how bracelets are processed. Today we will briefly explain the bracelet processing process using a piece of jade material.

1. Slicing

The first element in making a bracelet is to clearly understand the performance of the raw materials, determine the type of finished product and the selling point of the product - is it to highlight the color or the type? ——Thus determining the direction of the next cutting.

Based on our experience, we cut the raw stones into sheets of different thicknesses.

This can be said to be the most important step in all processes, and even the step that determines success or failure.

If you lack experience and skills and cut in the wrong direction, you will end up failing and suffer heavy losses, which is a pity.

This is what distinguishes an expert from an average processor.

2. Draw a circle

Its importance lies mainly in the quality and quantity of output.

On the cut jade slices, the size of the bracelet will be determined based on the size of the raw material, the distribution of color and the direction of the cracks, so as to achieve the optimal result of the best color distribution, the highest yield and completeness without cracks.

At this step, the designer is tested on the texture of the original stone, the market value of the bracelet, and his design experience.

Only people with a high sense of responsibility and a calm mind can take on such an important role. Therefore, rather than drawing a bracelet on a piece of jade, it is more like evaluating the designer's skills.

3. Suction (inner and outer) embryos

Match the jade with the corresponding drill bit according to the outer diameter of the bracelet, and drill out the whole bracelet and suck it out, which is called "sucking the outer embryo" in the industry.

Then, according to the diameter of the inner ring of the bracelet, choose a drill bit to suck out the inner ring, which is called "sucking the inner embryo" in the industry.

4. Top, edge and embryo punching

Removing defects and cracks from the rough piece is called topping ; removing the edges and corners of the bracelet and grinding it into a smooth shape is called edging .

The curvature of round bracelets and flat bracelets is different, so the angle and strength when punching the blank are also different.

5. Polishing

After the blank is punched, all traces on the blank will be polished off, including wood patches and dew. This means that the inside and outside of the bracelet blank will be completely shaped after the blank is punched.

Punching the blank is just to grind out the curvature angles of the inner and outer circles of the bracelet. The surface of the bracelet after punching is not the forming surface of the bracelet. It still has many traces of arcs left by the previous processes. Womulushui’s task is to grind these traces of arcs from coarse to fine into a smooth surface.

6. Polishing

It means removing sand and polishing the finished bracelet to show the luster of the jade bracelet.

The polishing should be done from the outside to the inside, back and forth several times until each jade bracelet reaches the desired brightness.
