How to distinguish A, B and C grade jadeite? Here is the simplest method!

There are two major types of jade in China, one is Hetian jade and the other is jadeite. There is a saying that goes "Men wear Guanyin, women wear Buddha". When people buy jade, they usually follow this principle. But apart from determining the style, the most important thing is whether the quality of the jade is commensurate with the price.

Jade is very popular in our country. Whether it is men or women, when choosing jade, jade is basically the first choice. It just so happens that the crystal clearness of jade is particularly suitable for the gentleness of oriental women. Oriental women and jade are combined into one, exuding an aura that neither diamonds nor gold can match.

Compared with our country, foreigners don’t seem to love jade as much as the Chinese. They are more keen on buying diamonds because diamonds are easy to distinguish and the curves and lines on them are not as exquisite as those on ancient jade. Jade is not just a kind of jade, it also represents a part of the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.

When we buy jade, usually the most difficult thing is to identify the authenticity and grade of jade. Most people don’t have any instrument to identify jadeite at home, which means we need to identify it with our naked eyes when buying jadeite. However, ordinary customers are not professional appraisers and cannot accurately observe the value of jadeite. Here, the editor has prepared some commonly used methods to help you choose jadeite~

The so-called A-grade jade refers to the top-grade jade that has not been processed and is completely natural. A-grade jade has strong transparency, clear color, crisp sound, and contains no impurities.

B-grade jadeite is generally processed, with less impurities in it. Compared with A-grade jadeite, it has poorer permeability, looks a bit rough on the surface, and makes a dull sound. But not all jade can be called B-grade jade. Jade must have good color and more impurities to be suitable for processing into B-grade jade.

C-grade jade is usually artificially dyed to increase the color saturation of the jade. It has a very light density and feels textureless and not transparent when held in the hand.

When buying jadeite, you can observe the amount of impurities under natural light to distinguish whether it is A, B or C grade jadeite. You can also observe its glossiness. If it is as transparent as glass and has no impurities, then it is A-grade jade!

Of course, the easiest way is to buy it at the mall and ask the mall staff to show you the authentication certificate ~ This is both simple and secure!
