About jade and pendants, do you know about these jade pendants?

Jade is a mineral. There are two types of jade: soft and hard. The jade we usually refer to is mostly soft jade. It is one of the most common jewelry. According to the Tengyue Local Chronicles written by Qing Dynasty Jinshi Cun Kaitai, "Teng is a gathering place with thousands of jade craftsmen who make utensils and sell them to various provinces in Yunnan. The best quality jade is mostly sent to eastern Guangdong, Shanghai, Fujian, Zhejiang and Kyoto."

Among them, nephrite in a narrow sense refers to Hetian jade, and in a broad sense includes more than ten kinds of nephrite such as Xiuyan jade, Nanyang jade, and Jiuquan jade. Many nephrite jades also have a long history, such as Xiuyan jade. Jadeite refers only to jadeite. Jade is a dense block aggregate formed by the interweaving of countless tiny fibrous mineral microcrystals, mainly jadeite. Jade belongs to the pyroxene family, with a monoclinic crystal system and two groups of complete cleavage. The main component is sodium aluminum silicate NaAl9. Gem mines are considered jadeite only when they contain more than 50% sodium aluminum silicate. They are produced in metamorphic rock formations formed under low temperature and high pressure. Jade is often associated with blueschist, muscovite, lawsonite, aragonite and quartz.

"Jade is the source of all things, and its essence is in its jade. It is strong as a rock and as clear as the sky." From ancient times to the present, jade has always been very popular and loved by people. From royal nobles to ordinary people, everyone admires jade. This has led to the fact that many jewelry products are made of jade. Especially in recent years, with the development of jade, more and more jade jewelry can be seen on the market. For example, jade bracelets, jade rings, jade pendants, etc. are relatively common.

The so-called pendant cannot be a separate piece, and is mainly used in conjunction with ropes and chains. Although the materials are varied, the main ones are jade, dewaxed glass pendants, etc. It is usually used to hang on mobile phones, cars, etc. for decoration. Or hang it around your neck or wrist. Jade pendants include common jade pendants such as complete pieces, rings, belt hooks, plaques, and sets of jade pendants. It also includes a non-mainstream series of jade pendants, including flower-shaped jade pendants, animal-shaped jade pendants, and many special-shaped jade pendants. For example, common jade pendants on the market include Pixiu pendants, peace locket pendants, Guanyin pendants, etc.

Pixiu Pendant

Many Chinese people like a piece of jewelry. In addition to being attracted by its material and appearance, it is often also related to the meaning given to the jewelry itself. Ancient Chinese Feng Shui scholars believed that the Pixiu was a lucky beast that could turn misfortune into good fortune. From ancient times to the present, everyone from emperors to ordinary people have attached great importance to collecting and wearing Pixiu. Legend has it that in addition to the functions of Pixiu to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits, it also has the functions of protecting the house, transforming the bad luck, and promoting marriage. There is a traditional Chinese custom of decorating with Pixiu. Pixiu has rich meanings and people believe it can bring happiness and good luck. In ancient times, people often used Pixiu as the name of the army.

Peace buckle pendant

The so-called peace locket, as the name suggests, expresses people's pursuit of peace in life, locking in peace and health. The outer circle of the peace locket is round, symbolizing the vast chaos of heaven and earth; the inner circle is also round, symbolizing the peace and tranquility in our hearts. There are many theories about the origin of the name of the Ping An Kou pendant. Some people believe that Ping An Kou evolved from ancient coins, while others believe that Ping An Kou evolved from jade walls. But no matter how it evolved or why it was named the peace locket, it expresses people's endless pursuit of life.

Guanyin pendant

Guanyin is one of the four great bodhisattvas in Chinese Buddhism. Buddhism believes that Guanyin Bodhisattva is a compassionate Bodhisattva. As long as sentient beings in distress recite his name, "the Bodhisattva will immediately hear their voice" and go to save and liberate them, hence the name. In the Tang Dynasty, because of the taboo of using the name of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin, the word "Shi" was removed and it was abbreviated to "Guanyin". Guanyin occupies a large psychological position in the Chinese people's beliefs, and this belief has been accumulated over a long period of time and passed down from generation to generation, not formed overnight. Of course, it is precisely because of the accumulation and sedimentation over a long history that jade Guanyin pendants or jade Guanyin-themed jewelry still occupy an important position in the market. According to market statistics, in the jade market, Guanyin-themed jade ranks second in popularity in the market.
