How to choose jadeite of various colors?

1. Green: saturated, rich, not biased

Ever since jade became popular in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties, “only green is the price” has become one of the important standards for measuring the value of jade in China. Green has also become one of the most representative colors of jade. Jade has always been respected for its green color. Any jade, as long as it has a touch of green, its price will increase by multiples.

The most valuable green jadeite is the saturated, rich, delicate and transparent green. If the green jadeite has gray or black tones, the value of the jadeite will be reduced. 2. Purple: Delicate and rich

3. Red: Look at the color, but also the type

The color of red jade is not the color of the jade mineral crystal itself, but the color formed by foreign iron elements entering the gaps between jade crystals. The red color of jade is generally located on the surface of the jade raw material or at a shallow position below the surface.

From a sensory perspective, red is richer and more beautiful than yellow. But not all reds have high value. Most red jades do not have very good quality. There are very few red jades with both good quality and good color. Most red jadeite is bean-type, and fewer are of the glutinous type. Red ice-type is the best.

4. Yellow: The color should be even and vivid, like honey orange

In recent years, with the decreasing jade resources and the soaring price of green jade, yellow jade has attracted more and more collectors' attention due to its warm and bright color. People have discovered that yellow jade also has varieties with uniform, vivid color, and translucent appearance, especially some jade that appears honey or orange, which are vividly called "golden jade".

When buying yellow jadeite, the most important thing is that the color is pure yellow. Try to avoid choosing yellow jadeite with brown or dark tones. The purer the yellow, the more noble and elegant it will be.

5. Black: The darker the better under natural light, the greener the better after lighting.

The black jade is the black jadeite available on the market today. The Burmese describe it as "lover's shadow" and we Chinese call it "black jade". It only started to gain popularity in my country's inland market in 2002. The top-grade black jadeite is pure black ink, which appears pure black to the naked eye, with a hint of green in the black.
