The "three major misunderstandings" of investing in jade

The "three major misunderstandings" of investing in jade

I believe that our generation has experienced the super depreciation of the RMB and the super appreciation of real estate. These are the inevitable trends of national progress and are unavoidable in any progressive society. In order to increase the value and maintain the value of their assets, many people choose to invest in real estate, but nowadays real estate investment is unstable, and more and more people are beginning to choose to invest in high-end jadeite.

Experts say that currently most people have many misunderstandings in jade appreciation. In order to get out of these misunderstandings, Cui Qin Zhi Huang tells you: What are the "three major misunderstandings" in the jade investment process?

Myth 1: The older the jade, the better

Many consumers like to choose old jade for investment, but good jade and old jade are two different concepts. Old jade should have good quality and stable properties, making it a suitable choice for investors. Old jade refers to ancient jade left over from the Qing Dynasty. Because the ancients did not know how to collect and protect it, many jades have lost their luster. This kind of old jade does not actually have much collection value.

Mr. Qiu Zhili, director of the Gemstone Research and Identification Center of Sun Yat-sen University, introduced that many collectors are particular about collecting "ancient jade", but there is no distinction between "ancient" and "modern" jadeite collection. Jade was introduced into China during the Qing Dynasty. At that time, there were not many jade raw materials and the identification ability was poor, so the quality of jade that was older was relatively poor.

Myth 2: The more complex the process, the better

Because many collection-level jades are finely carved, look very good, and are carved by famous masters. However, many laymen do not know that many jadeite stones are born with many natural lines. To avoid the lines, they need to be carved. On the contrary, a piece of jadeite without large-area carving is rarer and more expensive. “Simplicity is beauty.” Many high-quality jades are often made into very simple bracelets or ring faces without any carving.

Myth 3: Green jade is good

Many investors often only pursue the color of jade and ignore the quality of jade. In fact, we have a popular saying that "laymen look at color, experts look at quality". When it comes to whether a piece of jade is good or not, the most important thing to consider is its quality. After the quality of the jade basically meets your requirements, then look at the color. If you only want green color, the jade will lose its value, and even low-priced Hetian jadeite can meet your needs. Therefore, the higher the quality of the jadeite and the more collectible it is, the more important it is, and it is also very popular in the market.
